Coastal Rowing

Coastal Races in Rotterdam

Rotterdam Harbour Races

Coastal rowing has made an enormous development in the past years. This branch of rowing sport focuses on rowing in open waters. Because of the heavier conditions, the boats are wider and more robust than the boats used on rivers and lakes. The coastal rowing sport also has common grounds with the sailing sport. Coastal rowing guarantees a spectacle on the waters of Rotterdam.

This year on 5 September 2021 A.R.S.R Skadi Rotterdam and K.R.& Z.V De Maas will organize a coastal regatta, the Rotterdam Harbour Races. The Rotterdam Harbour Races will take place on the Maas.

The start will be a jump start. This means you start with 10 other boats. The course is around 5.5 kilometre. This race in the centre of Rotterdam will be a true spectacle on water.

Captains manual Information for 2021 will follow soon!

Below you will find the link to the captains manual of the Rotterdam Harbour Races 2019. Due to COVID-19, the coastal race of 2020 was held at a different location. Therefore,  the captains manual of 2019 matches more with the 2021 edition we want to organise. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to send an e-mail ([email protected]) or contact us through Facebook.

Novice Heats 2021

This year during the Rotterdam Harbour Races, there will be various novice coxed quadruple sculls heats. This is the perfect occasion for rowers who never tried coastal rowing before.
